Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 this Spring

I never had a chance to play the first Witcher game. I only got to hear about it.

Of course, the things I heard made me WANT to play it, but at that time my PC was way below spec, and I was reluctant to add yet another game to my collection that played more like a slideshow of low resolution screenshots than an actual game with a decent frame rate.

And so I refrained from buying it, and likewise I ended up missing out on Witcher 2. Of course, my machine is significantly better than it was on the release of the first game, but I still didn't buy it.

My focus at that point was on my Xbox, and I didn't feel like testing my computers capabilities with a game that was well known to be heavy on system resources at the time.

I did get a chance to see it on one of my friend's machines and I certainly liked what I saw. The graphics were good, characters likable (or alternatively quite the opposite) and dynamic. I played through the first section of the game and knew that given some quality time with the title, I would definitely enjoy it.

Then the news hit that Witcher 2 would be coming to Xbox 360.

Granted, this is quite a while after the release on PC, but the news was exciting nonetheless. Finally I could play the game, and not worry about tweaking and lowering settings to make the game playable.

The time-frame as to when it will be released has recently been announced, and although no specific date was set,.................. it will be coming out sometime during Spring this year.

Speaking to those in the know, this is one of those titles that was born to be on console.

Many people complained that the menu system was too simple, but did not suit the movements of a keyboard and mouse. Alternatively, many of those who played it also commented that it would be perfect for a controller.

So there we are, Witcher 2 on Xbox 360.

It's coming soon in all it's violent glory, complete with Difficulty levels that compare to Demon Souls, Sex scenes and multiple story paths.

I'm looking forward to playing this, but I really hope and prey that there aren't any framerate issues.

With it's gritty and realistic approach to fantasy games, it should be an interesting one to play.
